Lately I was on a trip to the Star Trek: Discovery set in Toronto, Canada. As a big fan of this great franchise I was excited to learn about the experience of making the first season of the new Star Trek series. For this fan film, I knew I had to work in some visual effects to add some variety. I was thinking of creating a Victorian steampunk-style time travel story that would become a classic episode of Star Trek.

I went to my father’s house where he had lots of free time and found some old office furniture and props that would be able to take the viewer on a journey.

I also went to the local store that sells all kinds of props and found some old props from the opening credits that could be used.

I loved the idea of The Enterprise from the opening credits of Star Trek and decided to use the same props to make the difference between the old and the new Enterprise.

In the last days of July I was asked to make some of the visual effects for the fan film. It was a wonderful experience to use my talents in a way that was not only helpful to me, but to the fans of the original series. I learned a lot from making the project, even though I did not get to use my own image, I was still proud of the work that I did. I hope I will be able to continue this kind of work.
