Tutorials for Photographers
Software isn’t an end in itself; it’s a tool for achieving a specific purpose. The most common purpose of Photoshop is to take and edit a photo and possibly create new photos from edited images or from raster images imported from other programs.
Photographers are a familiar group of Photoshop users. Typically, photographers want to add special effects (see Chapter 18), modify images they have already taken (see Chapters 3 and 10), or do their own retouching of portraits they have captured (see Chapter 7).
The tutorials on the market that are geared for photographers are fairly uniform, as the one common approach is to teach the basics and then extend the understanding of Photoshop to the point at which a user can create any image she or he wishes.
