So I am in dental school and have thought many times about going and starting a practice in a rural area after working for a couple years as an associate. I was curious on to what other dentists think about this because I have heard mixed reviews. I have heard rural dentists can be super successful and have great financial success, but I have also heard the opposite. I have also heard the majority of rural dentist are almost forced to accept insurance as well. I am interested in hearing the opinions and personal experiences to help give me a little more clarity. I am from a small town and would love to give back in that area, but I also don’t want to sink my ship when I have other opportunities. Thanks for the advice and comments in advance!
