Kenney finished in front of both school Board member Alan Butkovitz and former Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) board member David Oh. Butkovitz finished in second place with 16.2 percent of the vote, while Oh received 13.8 percent. City Councilwoman Mariko Watson finished third with 9.5 percent of the vote. The poll showed 67.2 percent of those responding said they would vote for Kenney in the Democratic primary for mayor. Kenney is currently the state senator for District 2, which includes West Philadelphia, and the district attorney of Philadelphia’s Courts and Public Health sectors. Prior to that, Kenney was a judge for 26 years. “I look forward to the challenges and opportunities of this campaign. It is an exciting time for Philadelphia as we confront so many issues facing our city,” said Kenney. “I am humbled and honored to be considered for this position, and I am committed to bringing our city together as we work to create better opportunities for the next generation.” Mayor Michael Nutter congratulated Kenney on his victory. “It is clear Jim is the most qualified and the most ready to serve Philadelphia,” Nutter said. The poll was conducted by telephone interview with 422 likely Mayoral primary voters in Philadelphia. Respondents were interviewed between April 30 and May 2, 2015. The margin of error for the poll was plus or minus 4.9 percentage points. Follow @jslater95 on Twitter.[Degradation of three c6a93da74d
