Comparison with other CAD programs

AutoCAD, originally released as simply a drafting application, soon grew into a complete 2D and 3D CAD application, for a variety of needs. Its 2D Drafting feature set, introduced in version 11, allows the creation and modification of 2D drawings, from small 2D engineering drawings such as electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawings, to complete architectural designs and more. In addition to the drawing editing and placement features, version 11 introduced the ability to build 2D component assemblies, which was not available before in other CAD programs. These include Autodesk Architectural Desktop (AD), which allows users to model all aspects of building design; AutoCAD Mechanical (ACM), which is used to create and modify mechanical engineering drawings; AutoCAD Electrical (ACE), which is used to create and modify electrical drawings; AutoCAD Construction (ACD), which is used to create and modify construction drawings; and AutoCAD Plant 3D (AP3D), which is used to create and modify 3D, plant-based drawings.

With the exception of Autodesk Architectural Desktop, each of these programs is stand-alone and may be used independently of AutoCAD, without modifying the main application.

AutoCAD does not have a “generic” 3D modeling program that can import most file formats. Instead, it offers specialized, product-specific 3D modeling applications, which may be installed separately from the main

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is implicated in the pathogenesis of many cancers, and studies in other anatomical sites have suggested that high-risk genotypes may be the principal agents in the development of penile cancers. We undertook a clinicopathological and molecular epidemiological study to elucidate the role of HPV in penile cancer and to determine whether HPV16 and HPV18, which are the most common high-risk genotypes associated with cervical cancer, play a similar role in penile cancers. We analyzed a series of 92 primary penile squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) by PCR with the primers E6 and E7, using the molecular epidemiological method, and immunohistochemistry with monoclonal antibodies against p16 and p53. HPV DNA was detected in 65% of the penile SCCs. Multiple infections were seen in most patients, and the detection rate was similar in non-invasive and invasive tumors. Of the HPV-positive tumors, 48.5% contained high-risk HPV16, 27.1% contained HPV18, and 10.8% contained HPV31. There were no significant differences in HPV detection rates between patients with tumor grades, T stages, or with regard to nodal metastasis. We also found an association between the presence of HPV DNA and expression of p16 and p53, which are surrogate markers of viral oncogene activity, which was statistically significant for p16 (P = 0.009). Our results indicate that the high-risk genotypes HPV16 and HPV18 may be associated with penile SCC.Biochemical and physiological responses of saffron (Crocus sativus) plants to cations.
